Riley's first day of Kindergarten went awesome. I was more worried and excited than he was. I made him a sign and he was so thankful and appreciative of the sign I made. He kept saying thanks mom for such a nice sign! I took the advice of another mom that said it is hard to remember which pictures were the first day of Kindergarten pictures so have him hold a sign.=) I thought I would cry but I actually didn't. I got teary eyed at his orientation but not today. He was not nervous at all and hopped right on the bus. When I picked him up after school he was same normal Riley not a worry in the world and ready to play. He said school was fun. He makes it easy on me.
Yes I was the obnoxious mom who takes a million pictures. It can be sickening I am sure. Two or three would have been fine. No kid has ever died from too many pictures....at least none that I know of so I guess Riley will be stuck with millions of pictures of him for the rest of his life.
Although it was sad seeing Riley g to school it was a liberating feeling as well....if I'm being honest. After he got on the bus I went for a run. Then Austie and I spent the day together and it was so much fun just him and I. Austin never gets alone time with us so it will be nice to take him places and focus all the attention on him for a change. Just like we used to do with Riley before Austin came along.
We went out to the mall which is not a place I like to go with two kids but with just Austin it was nice. He played in the indoor kids play place and I sat and watched him while I drank a cup of coffee. After that we went to Myrick/Eco Park and he played on the slides and wooden maze. He had so much fun and so did I. Then we went to the Bird Sanctuary for the first time this year. I took Riley there many times to get his pictures taken and it is such a pretty little place. We were all by our lonesome other than a mamma deer and her two fawns that were so close to us and never got spooked even with a loud two year old running around. It is always fun to see wildlife.
