Just Another Day in Paradise

I knew from the start this was going to be a rough year.  Austin woke up this morning with a fever and one look at him and I knew he caught the plaque.  My mom took him for the morning and I left work at noon then took him to the doctor as he was moaning and looked like death warmed over.  I thought for sure he must have strep throat as Riley just had it 1-2 weeks ago but he came back negative.  It is "just a virus."  Hope he gets better soon.  Poor thing.

Funny part of the night:  We are sitting on the couch and Austin moans "Mom, my nose hurts."  Riley sitting next to me says "Oh, I know how that feels, it hurts!  I had that happen before...it is when you get a big booger stuck in your nose and you can't get it out."  Literally....LOL!  Couldn't help but laugh at that one.  Riley can relate to Austie's nose pain.....just a big booger stuck in the nose!  This is true Friday night entertainment right here!

 

Laughter

Spent the afternoon with a best friend today.  We laughed all day long.  Laughing is my favorite thing in life! 

 

Strong Willed

Austin has been testy lately.  His strong will has been overflowing the last couple days.  Tonight he did not want to go to bed so I let him cry it out thinking he would eventually go to sleep but he continued for long enough that I finally went and got him.  I rocked him in the living room for a while and he sat calm as could be eyes wide open happy that he got his way.=)  After a while I asked him if he was ready for bed.  He says "no, I da wanna go to bed".  I said but aren't you tired.  He says "no, I'm not tired"  and continued repeating it about 5 times.  I say well it is late and you have to go to bed and I tried laying him down again.  Screaming instantly so after a few minutes went and got him one more time.  We rocked for a while and then I asked him "Do you know who Santa Claus is?"  He says "uh huh".  I say well Santa is going to be bringing toys on Christmas and he only brings toys for good little boys.  Riley goes to bed good so I'll bet he will be bringing toys for him."  Then I asked "Do you want Santa to bring you toys on Christmas?  He says "Uh huh."  Well then you better get to bed.  No kidding he hopped right out of the chair and went to bed.  Not a peep after that.  Honestly I did not think that would work!=)  LOL!
