Sunny Side

Today was sunny and bright.  Didn't do much other than eat lots of leftover sweet potatoes...my favorite.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Three things I am thankful for.  I am first thankful for my faith in God.  Secondly I am thankful for my family and friends.  Third I am thankful for my health.  Happy Thanksgiving!

It was a very nice Thanksgiving this year spent with family.  Life goes so fast and the holidays always seem to sneak up on you reminding you another year has flown by.  Jason normally gets laid off the week of Thanksgiving which I always enjoy but this year he only got Thursday night off and had to work the rest of the week and weekend.  It was nice to at least have him around for Thanksgiving day.  He didn't get to hunt as much this season but there is still some time left for him to shoot a deer.

It is so much fun having two boys close in age to dress alike.  One of my favorite things in life is dressing my kids alike. 

Can we just freeze time right now and not let them grow any older than this!

     

My sister is such a great Auntie!  I always hate to see her go home but at least I know she will be back soon for Christmas! 

I have so many great memories of the Besl family holidays.  We have a decent sized family and it is so nice to get together every year.  These precious moments will always be some of the best memories I have of my Grandparents when they are gone someday.  I hate to even think of them being gone.  I thank God for such a wonderful family I have been blessed with and I am so delighted that my kids can be a part of such a big loving memory too.

My Aunt Marianne had Thanksgiving at her house this year.  Anyone who opens their home to this many people deserves a BIG pat on the back!  I am not sure I could do it but I envy those that do.  She had seat assignments and everything.  So much fun!

Austin finds so much joy in sitting in chairs.  It did not surprise me a bit that he sat down at the kiddie table ready for some food!

Riley and Zaidyn(my first cousin Annie's little boy) are only about 6 months apart and they get along fabulous.  My aunt has a Dora the Explorer play house and they had lots of fun playing with it.

I feel so blessed to have a second family to call my own that I am so lucky to have married into.  I could not have asked for a better mother and father in law and we had yet another wonderful Thanksgiving together.  They say it takes a village to raise a child and God made sure my kids were surrounded by so much love.  

 

This year was the first year they started the shopping early for Black Friday.  Hannah and Linda decided to venture out to check out the deals.  I ended up meeting up with them at the mall and was shocked to find the parking lot full and long lines at most of the stores at 11 pm at night!  There were even parents with there babies wandering around!  Poor little things they should be in bed....just my opinion anyway.

A picture with the whole gang!  I wish Heidi and Ben could have joined us with their beautiful kids.  Riley already met Sophie once and still remembers her.   No doubt that Solomon and Riley would be great playmates.  Nalah and Austin would be so adorable together too being only a week apart in age.

Austin is a musical kind of guy.  We had to bring out the drums and get our groove on!  "The bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain, the bear went over the mountain....to see what he could see!"  Rock on!

Of course I still found time to take some pictures of the beautiful sunset on Thanksgiving Day.  The kids fell asleep in the car and needed a nap anyway so while they slept I stopped at Goose Island and admired the gorgeous sunset.  Another thing I am so thankful for....the beauty of nature!

Sunrise to start the day.

Riley has a cold and cough.  He came in my room about 430 am to ask if it was ok for him to go into the bathroom and puke.  I think I at least got around 5 hours of sleep last night so I am not complaining  as it could have been worse.  It wasn't the best start to the day but I did stop at one of my favorite spots, the boat landing on Brice Prairie, to watch the sunrise.  I have been waiting for a clear morning when I could finally get to a good spot at the right time to see the sun come up but in the past I was always to late.  Today I got there just in time and it was beautiful and made me have a better mindset for my day.

Jason was up all day with the kids after working all night long since Riley still was not feeling well.  He took a short nap before heading off to work at 8:30.   That is a long day! 

Riley was all revved up about wanting to play a game..."that is new."  He was overtired and argumentative begging to go the Red box to rent a game.  Normally I would say no but I caved and decided to go get one so we didn't have to have a big tantrum and wake Jason up.  So we went to the Red box and searched through the titles and settled on "Turbo".  After we got home and out of our coats and all I went to put the game in and it says "Cannot read disc."  Hmmmm that is odd.  I tried again same thing.  Then I took a better look at the game to find I rented an Xbox game not a Wii game!  What an idiot!!!  That is something I would do!!!  So Riley had a fit and I decided to go back and rent "Angry Birds"  this time making sure I got the Wii one.  Good thing the Red box is only a block away.  The game was fun and it kept us occupied until bedtime.
