Parent Teacher Conference and Austin 3 year well check

Today was a great day.  Austin had his three year well check with the doctor.  Jason took him.  He weighed 29 pounds and he passed his eye and ear test.  I do them on 3 year olds all the time and 80 percent normally can't pass at that age.  Good job Austie!  He is talking so much more and sometimes I can actually understand what he says!  He is so much smarter than you think....he is a quiet smarty pants.

Jason went to parent teacher conferences with Riley tonight.  He got glowing reviews.  Perfect report.  The teachers said he is friendly with a big heart.  Everyone loves him and that he is doing really good with writing, reading and math.  Jason and I could not be more happy, our hearts swell with pride!  Of course we know what a wonderful kid he is but it is that much more rewarding to hear others feel the same way.

Though the future is unknown for Jason's job and I feel uprooted from my security...I have an odd peace that this was meant to be to get Jason to a better job.  I know it will work out but not knowing the plan is a hard place to rest in.  I am enjoying the support with the kids, it has been nice not feeling like a single mom all the time.  So this is what it feels like to have a husband?  It takes some getting used to.=)

Good Times

Jason got some surprising news this week.  He was shocked to find out he was being let go at his job at the City Brewery.  He put in seven years there to be let go for no apparent reason.  As disheartening as it can be to lose your job it is the truth that "everything happens for a reason."  Obviously we are taking this very seriously but we believe this is a good opportunity for him to be forced out of a job that he was unhappy with and hope for something better.  It has been a great weekend with a lot of fun times.  Feeling blessed, hopeful and ready for a change in our lives.  Worry is wasteful and I won't waste one day worrying.  Things seem to always work themselves out and when you look back you see the hand of God in everything.  Felling thankful.

Got out for a bike ride on Friday evening.  Went to the Down Syndrome Day Event as a family on Saturday to support Ethan.  Went bowling and had pizza together on Sunday.  Glad to have the time together as a family.

Austin's birthday weekend continued

Here are some pictures from the weekend.  Took many walks outside.

On Sunday we drove to Wabasha to Lark Toy Store and stopped at some parks on the way home.

Was able to take a break and meet a friend on a beautiful day for a drink overlooking the river.

This was the day Riley stayed home because of strep throat.  It turned out to be a great day spent at home.  It was nice having some mom time with the kids.

Friday was a gorgeous day with a gorgeous sunset to end it.  Took a moment to appreciate the sunset.

Was able to get out for some running this weekend.
