Just Yesterday...

Funny how in the moment nothing changes but looking back is a different world that didn't seem so far away.

Lake Michigan/ Mackinac Island Vacation Continued

I could have spent hours wandering around Mackinac Island observing all the beautiful flowers, colors, people and cute little neighborhoods.  It was truly special.  The kids were not impressed as they are not excited by beautiful houses and flowers.  I on the other hand loved it.  It is very touristy which is obnoxious.  Overpriced activities, food and drinks as well as crowded.  I would prefer to stroll the island without all the people.  I still would recommend to go as it is worth the visit.  Loved all the neat old bikes everywhere, the beautiful old fashioned homes, the gorgeous lilacs and flowers blooming everywhere, the horse and buggy carriages on the streets, no cars and the most beautiful views of the lake.

I got up early one morning as I noticed the sky turning pink and new it was going to be a colorful sunrise.  Such a peaceful feeling walking along the crystal clear lake as the waves wash upon the shorline and the sun rises to create a beautiful pink, purple, orange and blue horizon.

Then we headed to Traverse City and stayed in The Wolf Lodge which had an awesome water park that the boys loved.  We went to the Trail Of Trees and Sleeping Bear Dunes National Monument.  It was so peaceful with clear water and gorgeous hiking trails and views.

Our last day we went Chicago.  We went to the Lincoln Park Zoo and walked around downtown.  All in all we had an amazing trip and made wonderful memories.  Can't wait for next year!
