Riley's Good Report!

We got Riley's second semester report card today and I am so proud of him!  He did wonderful and the teacher had some very nice comments.  It is always heartwarming to hear your child is doing well.

He is on a mission to stay "green" all year round.  They have a color system:  red means not good, yellow means ok and green means good.  Riley has had all green days so far and every day I pick him up he says "Another green day mom".  I love him!

Jesus is the Light

Life is good but sickness has invaded our happy home again.  Why can't the bugs just stay away?  Guess they want to join in the fun too.  Riley got strep throat for the second time and Austie got the stomach flu two days later.  Winter is just the best!  Despite the sickness we have been pressing onward towards the prize for surviving the most sick days in one winter.   Still waiting for the prize but I'll take some healthy kids and be happy.

Here was a cute conversation I had with Riley the other day:

Since Jason loves the Seahawks so does Riley.  All the kids at school are of course Packers fans and while all the other kids were bummed the Seahawks won Riley was pumped.  When I picked him up from school he says to me, "Mom, my friend Colton told me the Seahawks cheated and that is why they beat the Packers."  I asked him what he said back to him and he says "I didn't say anything but I knew that wasn't true!"

Jason and I were able to get out for a night to see the Blue Man Group.  They were really enjoyable but the show was surprisingly short...only an hour and fifteen minutes long.  I would have loved to take pictures but unfortunately it was not allowed and I obeyed the rules.  The light show was awesome and their drumming was super cool but the show could have been longer.  We had fun and the tickets were a gift from my parents.

I was thinking about how much I enjoy taking pictures and how beautiful things can be through the eye of a camera.  This quote, to me, says it so beautifully and I wrote it myself.  "I once could not see but now have new sight, through the lens of my camera into His glorious light."  The more I take pictures the more I notice the amazing power of light.  I love how photography is all about light and God is the creator of light.  If Jesus is the light what an amazing sight he must be.  In the light of day Earth is breathtaking but how much more radiant must Heaven be in all of it's glorious light and splendor.

Had a fun weekend of playing in the snow, watching football and made it to church.

Here are some night pictures I took.  So fun.

Star Filter Pictures

Oh I am having so much fun!  My star filter is such entertainment for me and I knew it would be.
