A Christmas Story

Christmas is wonderful.  I love Christmas because it is the day Jesus was born.  It is always nice to be with family.  Jason had off about five days in a row and it was nice to have him around.  As much fun as it is opening presents for 2 days straight it is also exhausting.  The holidays can be overwhelming and throw off the kids schedules but kids are what make the holidays bright.

My sister got me the most thoughtful, amazing and shocking gift ever.  She got me the thing I have been pining for which is a new camera.  An actual camera with a zoom and all kinds of fun settings for me to learn how to use.  I am so thankful for the gift and it will get used every day of my life.  Awesome gift!

We had our annual gathering at my Grandma and Grandpa Besl's again this year.  It was a loud, chaotic and crazy house full of people but it is a house full of beautiful family times and memories that will live on forever in my heart.  I count my blessings that my grandma and grandpa, the ones who started it all, are still alive and able to share in the awesome family they created.  It is even that much more special to see the joy of all the great grand kids together at Christmas time.  God is good and family is such a priceless gift.

We had a great time at Linda and Ken's.  We were able to see Uncle Justy and Hannah on Christmas Eve day and we even skiped with Heidi, Ben and the kids too.  It was so nice to see them on the computer screen and hear about what they got for Christmas.  Wish they were here but at least we could see there smiling faces.  They are so adorable.
Justin and Hannah were so sweet to buy the kids gifts.  They even got me a gift certificate to get a massage!  I so appreciate the thoughtful and unexpected gift.
Jason got me snowshoes for Christmas and Linda and I are already planning which trails we want to try out first.

The weekend before Christmas Linda, Ken, Jason, the kids and I all went to "The Bethlehem Event" at English Lutheran Church.  It is an event they have every four years and they spend endless hours preparing the church to look just like it did in Bethlehem when Jesus was born.  They have over 300 people who dress up and take part in the event.  I have never been to it before but heard wonderful things and really wanted to go.  I am so glad we went as it was really neat.  After all, Christmas is really about the birth of Jesus.
