Linda and I joined the Camera Club. It is an awesome group of people that meet a couple times a month for meetings to learn about photography. We both love taking pictures and thought it would be fun to learn how to get the best out of our photos. It is so much fun to see other people's pictures and listen to how they are critiqued by judges. I have already learned many fun photo ideas and have met a lot of neat people too.
Linda and I went on our first field trip with the Camera Club yesterday to Baraboo, WI area. We were able to get a map of all the fun areas to go to get some really neat photos. Since neither of us have a great sense of direction we followed a wonderful couple for the day. We stopped at a few interesting and beautiful places. First we stopped in Cashton at an Amish Bakery and got a couple photos of the beautiful sunrise. Then we stopped at and old Railroad station that had many old Railroad cars that were really neat. Riley would have loved it there. Our third stop was at
Pewit’s Nest, Baraboo, Wisconsin. There we hiked to the inside of a water-filled gorge, then we carefully hiked to the top for views of a creek and to try to see the waterfall. It was very beautiful and worth the hike to see but we were not able to actually see the waterfall as you would have to get too close to the edge for comfort to see it. It is quite a steep fall and if you did fall it would hurt as there is nothing but hard rock on either side. Supposedly kids jump off of it into the creek below which is obviously insane! Our next stop was Devil's Lake. It was sunny when we first got there so we were able to take a few good photos of the golden colored trees when you first enter the Park but walking along the water was freezing with the wind. Still it was a beautiful site to see and we want to go back in the summer with Ken, Jason and the kids next year sometime. We got lucky and left before it rained on us. Our final stop was at The Forevertron and
Dr. Evermor's Scrap
Metal Art Park. That was so cool! It was basically like a huge junk yard full of metal and other interesting things that people made into art. We spent a long time wandering around looking at the unique art pieces and snapping lots of photos. That was so worth seeing and we were glad the rain held off for us to se it.
Here are some pictures from our adventures.

This was at an Amish built home and I snapped a picture of the beautiful sunrise. |

I thought the pattern of the railroad tracks would look neat in a photo and I like the way it turned out. |
There is Linda on the right waiting for the train to come in. |
I really like the cattails in front of the train in this picture. |
This is a picture of a window with the reflection of a train in it. A photographer that was with us taught us how to take this photo. I really love how it turned out. |
This is at Pewitt's Nest when we hiked up above the gorge. It was steep. |
There is a cascade back in there but it was hard to see it. |
This was the entrance to Devil's lake and the sun was shining to help make a great photo. |
At Devil's Lake. It was cold, windy and about to rain. |
Love the color. Just as I was about to snap this picture the guy turned around unexpectedly. |
This is at the Scrap Metal Art Park. This was a great place and I took so many pictures. |
So weird! |
This was at the Metal art park too and I thought this would look neat with the sky behind it. |

Just a random shot along side the highway. |

A random shot along the highway of the sunset. |
