We are the light of God and we were meant to shine!

Today Jason turned 40. That is such a milestone. Being 20 something feels young and free, being 30 something feels feels mature, being forty something sounds so old! It truly is frightening how fast time slips away. You can buy a lot of things in this life but you can't buy time. Time is a gift not to be taken for granted. Every moment in this life counts. Every choice, every word and everything we do matters. Every day we have the power to make a difference. I find it so amazing how each one of us have special qualities that inspire and empower each other. Even our flaws can be empowering and bring goodness. We all started with a clean slate, no baggage, pure in heart and innocent. Over the years our paths and life stories have brought us to the unique and special person God created us to be. God even knew our flaws before he created us and smiled with overwhelming adoration still madly in love with his creation. There are no two people alike and that is what makes us all so very special. In my life I refuse to bow down to the powers of darkness. I choose to smile even if my heart is breaking. Laugh even if nothing is funny. Be filled with passion when nothing seems exciting. Love even when I'm not loved back. Understand even when it makes no sense to me. Show compassion when it is not deserved. Be at peace when chaos surrounds me. Rise above when the waves are crashing. God made us to be strong warriors that win the battle. Our strength is perfect in his strength. No matter how bad or good things seem we are all in a battle and we are only as strong as our weakest link. The last shall be first and the first shall be last. God knows our story from beginning to end and he will see us through to eternity. Rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. We all shall find ourselves in both places many times in life. Pay it forward. If someone is in need do what you can to help. One day when you are in need you will be thankful for help too. Treat people how you want to be treated without expecting a reward in return. Be kind, be honest, be trustworthy and be loyal. Strive for the greater good. Stick up for those who are treated unfairly and speak up when the truth needs to be heard. Do not let fear hold you back but instead let love empower you to defeat your fears. Keep that fire in your eye and let not your heart grow cold. Don't be afraid to admit when you are wrong. Everyone is wrong sometimes. Be courageously humble but don't ever hide the light inside of you. we are the light of God and we were meant to shine!
