Life has been so very busy these days. I never have any time to update my blog with the treasured memories that keep sleeping through the cracks. Treasured moments are so much better in the moment but are always good to look back on when your memory fails you.
Riley had his 8th birthday party at Coulee Golf and bowl
. He invited all the boys in his class as well as some other friends. He continues to grow up as a nice kid with a good heart and that is the best thing a parent can ask for. I keep waiting for the day something changes but until then I am thankful to God for the kind hearted and fun loving kid I have been blessed with.
Riley has grown to really love baseball. I have never been one to enjoy watching any kind of sports but I find myself really enjoying watching his games. I always thought I would hate the business of sports but to be honest I LOVE IT! I have met many lovely parents and I am pleasantly surprised to find so much joy in watching my kid play sports. I hope he continues to love it. Had a special mommy moment at Riley's second baseball game of the 8U season. Riley was up to bat when the score was 2 to 3 and the other team was winning. He got his very first homerun ever and all of his 8 year old buddies cheered him on. He looked at me with that light in his eyes and said "mom this is the best day of my life." It is not every day you get to be eight years old and bring in your first homerun with all your eight year old buddies. There is no greater joy than seeing joy in your child, life has a lot of heartache so it is always good to savor those small but good moments life gives you every once and a while.
Austie started his first year of t ball this year. He is really into it and tries really hard. I forgot how much fun it is to watch all those cute little boys and girls chase after the ball. They are all so innocent and cute. If only time did not make them all grow up so very fast. Austie starts kindergarten in September and he is very excited about that. It is bittersweet. Still every milestone is a blessing.
I still find time in the morning before work to the things I love the most...capture nature.
Met a girl at work looking for someone to take her daughters senior photos. It was meant to be. The photos turned out so beautiful and I took them in a filed of blooming apple blossoms.
I have had many fun adventures this year. Went with my sister to a small town where Beauty and the Beast was supposedly filmed. Northfield, WI. Very pretty.
Jason and I took the kids on our very first family vacation to St. Louis this year. It was so much fun and so worth the money. It is so good to travel together and build family memories. I plan on making a photo book of our trip but it will be quite the project as I took almost 3000 pics.
Some snapshots from a golden morning.
Had the privilege to see Luke Bryan at summerfest last weekend. Kelly and I had a blast. Of course I had to find the nearest park to take some photos too.
