Annual Puddle Stomping Celebration

Woke up this morning to birds chirping and the feeling of spring in the air.  Today was that first day that you can feel the hope of a new season rolling in.  I love our four seasons and I have never been more ready to jump into Spring and leave winter behind.  The temperature actually got into the fifties today and it felt good!  Everything is a sloppy mess outside so I thought today would be a great day to take the kids outside for a puddle stomping walk.  Sometimes it is fun to get dirty!  Austin was so excited that he was allowed to walk in all the puddles by himself and Riley went crazy trying to find the biggest puddles to jump in.  We walked once around the block and by the time we got home Riley was sopping wet.  It was well worth the dirty mess because the kids had a ball.  After that Riley warmed up with some hot chocolate.  Thank you God for this awesome 50 degree day.  I feel better already!

Stuck

Today was warmer with lots of melting snow.  Had plans to take Riley to a movie with Carrie and Gabe.  On the way to drop off Austin I drove through Brice Prairie to take some pictures.  I found a cool spot for a picture and pulled over on the side of the road, my wheels were spinning and I realized I might be stuck!  I panicked and drove further into the ditch instead of driving out the right way.  Then I tried my best to get out but just got my wheels buried deeper in the mud.  I was going to need a tow truck.  I was supposed to be at a movie with Riley in 40 minutes and this was not good.  I tried knocking on a few doors but no one answered.  Riley told me he could push me out because he really wanted to get to the movie.  We spent almost an hour waiting for my dad to get there and he couldn't get me out either.  Luckily a neighbor near by was able to get his son to pull me out.  I was so embarrassed and I learned my lesson, NO MORE stopping on the side of the road for a picture unless I know for sure I won't get stuck!  My kids were amazing and sat peacefully in the car the whole time.  I still cannot believe I did that and I should have taken a picture of my car stuck in the ditch, that would have made a good picture!  We did make it to our movie 40 minutes late and Riley had a fun day despite my idiot behavior.

Here are some pictures from barns.  At least when I took these pictures I didn't get stuck in a ditch.

Got my shower curtain!  It is absolutely perfect.  I love it.

Melting Snow and Sloppy Puddles

Today was the beginning of warmer temperatures.  Of course with the warmth came the snow but I'll even take snow over below zero!  I am hoping it will stay warm for a while.  Took the kids to Grandma and Grandpa's today.  Riley and I went outside and played in the snow until Riley was sopping wet and had to go in to warm up.  He had lots of fun jumping in the puddles from the melted snow.  I got a great picture of him mid air.

Austin loves putting everyone else's shoes on.

Looking just like Jason in this picture.

New Pictures on the Wall

Took the kids to Carrie's on Saturday.  Riley and Gabe went outside for about 10 minutes and played before they were frozen and had to come back inside.  We had a lot of fun.  Watched the movie Pitch Perfect, drank some wine, ate some pizza and let the kids run wild.  It is so nice having  a friend with two boys about the same age.

Jason showing Rye how to make macaroni and cheese.

Went to Linda's Bakery on Sunday for donuts.  Admired the barns along the way.

This is cool.

Riley loves to push Austin around the house in the laundry basket.

Here are some more pictures I put up in the house.

This is an older picture at Norskadalen.  If you look close you can see Jason with Riley on his shoulders.  I always loved this picture.

This has been on the wall for a while, since it is magnetic I thought it would be neat to put some magnet pictures on it.
