Lake Wazee Drive

Jason has to work tonight so I decided to take the kids on a drive alone to get out of the house.  I ended up driving to Lake Wazee in Black River Falls.  It was another bitter cold day outside so I didn't want to have the kids outside.  It was a pretty day for a drive anyway. 

Made breakfast for supper as to make things easy for myself. 

Riley's cute quote of the day:
"Mom, do you know who farts all the time?"  I say "No, who?"  He replies "I can't remember, I'll have to think about it and tell you later." 
I have an odd child!  LOL!

Shopping and a flying blanket.

Jason and I went Christmas shopping together today without the kids.  We got all our shopping done for the kids and that feels good to be done.  It was very nice to get out, even if it was just shopping, just the two of us.  It has been a while since we hung out just us two.  We discussed how it would be nice to plan a date night together as it has been a while. 

Here are some more funny pictures of things being thrown in the air.  Yes, I find fun in VERY silly things but you have to think of something to do when it is too cold to go outside.

This is too funny.  How the sheet just happened to be in this position and my camera just happened to capture it at the right moment is beyond me.  It looks just like a ghost! 

This can't be good for Riley's eye and I did not realize he did this.

Whatever Riley does, Austin must do too.

I am bizarre!

I decided to wrap some presents tonight but instead after getting the paper out Austin wanted to play with it.  So we started tossing tissue paper in the air and I of course took some pictures of tissue paper flying in the air.  I got a little carried away but it was sort of fun.

LOL!  When I cropped some of the photos of flying tissue paper they sort of resembled things.

Looks like a dog chasing a butterfly.  Maybe.



I never did get any presents wrapped. 

Rae Anne

Today Riley got a heart from a classmate at school and he was so excited to tell me all about it. 

"Mom, Rae Anne colored a heart for me and put it in my mail box at school.  She is a nice girl and I really like her.  That was so nice of her to give me that heart."  I thought that was so cute. 

I am so thankful we are coming to the end of this week.  Thank goodness I don't have to bundle the kids up tomorrow at the crack of dawn out into the freezing cold.  It has been below freezing every day this week and it is a lot of work putting snow pants, jackets, hats, gloves, mittens and boots on two kids before the work day begins.   I am not a winter person and I get a little depressed when it is this cold and there is so little light in the day.  At least there was a beautiful sunset tonight.  I am looking forward to longer and less frigid days.

Snow fun

Took the kids outside and played in the snow today.  Only out for a short time as it was only about 5 degrees. 

Snow and Brunch

Happy Birthday to my sister! 

We got snow today!  Only about 2 inches but enough to make everything white and feel more like Christmas.  I love snow for Christmas and I know Riley can't wait to play outside.  I am thinking we will go outside tomorrow and play as long as it is not below freezing. 

Today I got together with my closest friend Carrie for a "Mama brunch".  She is such a great friend because no matter what we do we ALWAYS have fun and always laugh hysterically.  We like to get together once a month at least to get a break from the daily grind and have some girl time.  We are already planning our next get together for next month.  After brunch we drove to Pettibone and took a walk in the snow.  We had some yummy hot drinks too, perfect for a cold and snowy afternoon.  Snow always gets me in the Christmas mood until Christmas is over and then I am ready for spring.
